Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. She has recorded several high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry announced her new song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music more as a hobby than a profession. The Aksnes family inspired her to write. Her inspirations include famous authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her affinity with Bjork's style. When her mother told her that her songs could not only help her gain fame, and also inspire others to see their significance in the world and realize the possibilities for her songs, she decided to begin singing in public. As a young girl She began playing the piano. At age nine, she was writing music. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family members until she was fourteen. It was never a dream to become Aurora. She just loves to write songs. To her music, it is the best way to express anything.
